"I want to see you.
I want to see you.
I couldn't say anything.
but i struggled with those desperate feelings of wanting to see you.
Just the bursting pain of thinking about you...
Just this pain is enough of a reason why I can't distance myself from you"
Thoughts of Mayama, whose love for Rika is turned down because she rejects all good things that come to her, since the death of her husband...

They do not shout " LOOK AT ME" - they simply offer love quietly."

Troy
I've finally found time to watch the vcds I bought years ago...literally.
Troy! Is an amazing show! And Brad Pitt is an amazingly charismatic actor.
To me, he has been immortalized in this movie, and this is what he has to share about immortality...

"My brothers of the sword.
I'd rather fight beside you than an army of thousands."
"Let no man forget how menacing we are.
We are Lions!"
"Do you know whats there?
Waiting... beyond that beach.
Immortality!
Take it!
Its yours!"
Achilles~Troy
I MUST get the DVD!

Everyone is Unique
There is no point trying to fit a cube into a round hole.
The cube is not inadequate as compared to a sphere.
Each has its own merits.
Wont it look ridiculous to see a cube trying to roll?
Everyone is unique.
Know your strength and your weaknesses.
Know them, and understand them. Then, use them to serve you well.

Confidence
Thoughts from a few friends' discussion about what they think confidence is. Communication, the exchange of ideas is really a wonderful thing.
To be able to:
-Observe the situation
-Analyze,
-Consider,
-Decide,
-Stick to your decision.
Then accept and handle the consequences of your actions.
This makes a confident person.
Even if you are in a bad situation, be confident, and know that you can in a bad situation.
Be patient, and observe, analyze and learn.

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way
to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.

The day I fell sick over the weekend.
1. Deprived from sleep
2. Lack of rest
3. Extreme temperature variations
4. Karaoke session
5. Caught in the rain.
All the fantastic makings of a sore throat, which mutates into a cough, blocked nose, and a full blown flu.
Weekend, burnt!

When we are angry.
There is something important that I have been reminded of tonight. And I would hope to say it in a humble attempt of a poem:
When we are angry,
when words of anger flies like the wind,
we feel a moment's pleasure.
For this "brings justice to those who did us wrong", we think.
However we are sometimes blind to see,
For these blades and spears of anger,
which we feel will bring us "justice",
sadly but surely,
will only hurt those who care for us the most.
~Lionzmane~
Such is the irony of life.
As such, to all those who have been hurt by the wrath of my blades of carelessness and my spears of ignorance...
I'm Sorry.

A Tooth called Molar
A tooth chipped at one corner with fracture at another.
An unskilled dentist ripped that corner and extended the fracture to the gums.
I bled, I cursed.
A crown is needed, but the wait is a month.
I hope it comes soon, if the tooth can be salvaged.

Chinese History teaches many lessons
Integrity, Righteousness and Honour. Values long lost with the sands of time.
The difference between the Mediocre and Greatness, might just be whether or not you have the Courage...
And the Brave are "Simply those with the clearest vision of what is before them. Glory and Danger alike not withstanding, go out and meet it."

The Knight is Dark indeed

likes to use a knife to end one's life. He feels that its slower, allowing the last few moments of a person's life to reveal their true self. Or rather, the ugly side of mankind.
But I feel everyone has a good and an ugly side. Which side we choose to live by, makes us who we really are. By focusing or trying to bring out that ugly side will not make the world a better place.
However...
I might be able to see how the joker came to be. When a person is pushed beyond despair, they snap. As Hope and Dreams are crushed, Despair and Chaos emerges. Hope is what keeps us alive. Despair, Chaos and eventually Darkness, is easier, because it is surrender. And the need for him to show to others, that madness, chaos and darkness is mankind's true nature, is the need for justification.
This is not a movie about heros, it is about mankind.

Pushing Daisies
Beautifully worded:
"....though she was not yet ready to let go of the hope that her perfect guy's perfect happiness, might lie with her."
Ned:"We wake up everyday with a list of wishes a mile long. And maybe we spend our lives trying to make those wishes come true, but just because we want them doesn't mean we need them to be happy."
Chuck:"What do you need to be happy?"
Ned:"You."

All the makings of a good movie, but unfortunately it isnt.
Enjoyable nevertheless.
Upon failure and depression.
Strangers meet.
Fall in love.
Road Trip.
Lessons of life, failure, courage and greatness.

Being Sick while Away
Oh great. Being sick while overseas is just so not economical. It drives down my efficiency per dollar spend on the trip by 1 day less....
Stomach Flu is the word.. any cures anyone can suggest?
Currently, I am sticking to strictly liquid diet, and charcoal pills. Plenty of rest, and cross my fingers to wish I recover tomorrow.
Wish List:
- Ginger ( for getting rid of the wind )
- Yakult ( for friendly germs to cure my tummy)
- Pocari Sweat ( for salt )

Being Away
Being away really helps you to reflect and relook at your life. It allows you to stone to your heart's content. Listening to your favorate tunes while looking at the mountains, rivers and padi fields zoom by leaves you nothing better to do than to think. A rare activity I seldom have the luxury of, ever since I leaped into the rat-race.
It also allows you to experience new things and see different people and come up with totally irrelevant epiphanies while doing so... Heres one to share;
"With The Unknown, comes Hope."
~Maneless~
Thus, Fear Not the unknown, but embrace it with enthusiasum.

Exercise Sunday
At the peak of my insanity..... I dragged myself out of my comfy bed and air-conditioned room this morning... to sweat under the hot sun.
I believe I deserve some sort of medal for this level of determination. Maybe an award of some sort?
I just love the feeling of wind in my face. And as I cruise down ECP, I stare up, into the deep blue sky. With the sun's smile peering through the leaves.

Costumes
It is indeed interesting to try out new things. Today, with anxiety, curiosity and suspicion, I stepped into my first Costume shop. I was initially expecting the place to be nothing more than a classroom in size. No. It turned out to be about the size of a basketball court. If not bigger! Shelves stuffed with customs of different country, culture, themes, genres, movies, you name it, they will probably have it.
I got ahead of myself. My trip to the custom shop is all in preparation for my friend's wedding in June. They are having their wedding dinner in The Grand Shanghai. And as the name suggests, we are going to have a themed dinner, "Oriental" style!!
So, after 2 hours of digging, trying, laughing our heads off, I finally found (with the help of the friendly staff) the complete costume. Silk Ma-Gua, jacket, hat, pants, cloth shoes, everything! all I need now is a bird cage and a paper fan! They say I look like some 19 Century Chinese "Ah1 Xia4 Kia4". Those that frequent tea-houses. For those who don't understand this, go look up www.hokkien-ho-dictionary.com for answers... NO! this is not an actual website! Well, but it didnt come cheap. 60bucks for the whole set. Ouch!
Photos??? Hmm... maybe not yet. Might post a few of them during the wedding. It will be a smash! An eventful weekend if I do say so myself :)

Vesak must mean Work in greek
I must be mistaken.
I was under the impression that Vesak day is a public holiday. Apparently, it just means another day at work.
Same mistake I made with Labor day. I thought it was a public holiday. It turned out to be another day that you are required to WORK.
Silly me.
Crisis, Fire fighting, server-down, orders blocked, operation folks complains, clients nag. Stomach ulcers, hair-loss, over-eating, sleepless nights, chest-pains and breathlessness. Am I really paid enough to handle all this?

Biology vs Destiny - Infidelity
Interesting quotes from a newspaper's Sunday column.
"Over lunch with a businessman in his 50's, who travels extensively and has a wide network of friends and associates, men and women, I asked how realistic it was for a woman to expect her husband to be faithful. Pause, and then :"Unrealistic"
Smart young man, in his 20's: "Monogamy is a social construct. Men are biologically made to stray. But the restraints of society and religion may make some faithful."
..................
A candid comment from a bachelor: "Men have millions of sperms, and women have only one egg at a time., So nature intended men to be polygamous."
Evolutionary biologist in fact support this view and make a case for a biological difference that explains why men stray more.
They say men are prone to sexual straying because men can father offspring with multiple sex partners. This way, they spread their genes far and wide, without having the responsibility to care for their offspring.
In contrast, a woman who gets pregnant, can carry only one child at a time. She also needs the mate to provide for the child. Thus biological make-up, and the pressure to keep the mate, act as constraints on female infidelity.
.....................
Many women are brought up to think that marriage means happily ever after. They may think, in the abstract, that other men may stray, but not their own darling who loves them so much.
They under-estimate the discipline and commitment required to remain monogamous in today's modern society, when sexual attraction is the undercurrent in many a relationship, the sec act has been denuded of love and commitment, and religious and moral strictures are cast adrift.
.......................
My retort to this is simple: Biology need not be destiny.
My own views is that both sexes have the capacity to be faithful - or unfaithful.
Perhaps men are biologically more primed to do so. It is certainly socially more acceptable for men to stay than for women. The male philanderer is viewed with tolerance, even respect, as a stud; the female philanderer is viewed with contempt as a slut.
Whether from biological or social imperatives, the result is that more women try harder to be faithful to their mates, and more succeed. Men try less hard, and more fail.
This should not be an excuse for either sex to give up. human beings are volitional creatures: We have the power of choice. We can choose to surrender to impulse and instinct and live at that primordial level - or we can choose to honour the tenets of a humane society and the marital vow.
In the end, the biggest constraints on infidelity have to be love and commitment and the desire to protect the sanctity of an exclusive, committed relationship.
Mature love requires self-restraint and sacrifice - values so out of vogue in today's society, yet so central to maintaining a loving relationship.
A man who strays, knowingly hurts his wife - and vice versa."
For the full article, check out page 10 : Reflect, of the Sunday's paper.
I agree to most of what the article says. Does a man, or a woman really want their marriage to fail? No, I don't think so. Ironically, instead of helping each other out, they put them to the test. Some women expect the men to please and pamper them while they do nothing, and expect the men not to stray (Note: Men not equals to dogs). Whereas some men just don't treasure what they have until they have lost them (Note: Women not equals accessories).
She: "How dare he not pamper me and treat me like a princess and do what I want him to do? And now he cheats on me?! How dare he?!!"
He: "Why cant she be less demanding and more fun to be with, like when we were dating?"
Well, it takes 2 hands to clap. Many of us forget.

Be passionate! Be Inspirated!
Go with your passion.
Learning about people and how to be a great leader, can happen outside of the traditional business sphere. Some people get business ideas from philosophy or studying religion. It all depends on what you're passionate about.
Inspiration can come from the most unusual of sources.

Inspiration can come from the most unusual of sources.
Tom Glocer, the CEO of Reuters, said that the philosophical writings of Honoré de Balzac served as a guide for him in the business world:
"With Balzac, ideas don't necessarily only come from a very direct path. Often the bigger lessons in life get learned in slightly indirect or abstract ways. If you're thinking of a problem in a narrow space, often the solution lies in reorienting in the way you approach the problem, and you end up solving a general set of problems."
If you can find something that motivates you and hones your potential, that is what is most likely to help you succeed.

Step 1: Book Ticket ...FAST!!!
In my job, I have learnt that everything should have a system to govern a person's actions to complete a task in the most efficient manner. As such, I shall hereby develop a process that should be followed to make preparation for a vacation.
Step 1: Book your tickets, FAST!!
Choose Country, City, Departure and return dates, Airline and BOOK IT!! (In Singlish)/ Make a reservation (in British)/ Hantam!!! (In Beng-ish)/ Just WHACK! (In Atas-high-klass-Beng-ish)
If the above steps are not followed religiously, closely and promptly, user might experience smoke emitting from his wallet as all the available seats/time-slots are taken up over just 1 weekend.

Sick a for a week
The only thing worse than falling sick, is to almost fall sick.
Its one of those times when you feel all the symptoms of flu, but not knocked out due to flu yet. Horrible Sore Throat, blocked nose, 97yr old backache.. makes you just want to throw yourself off the cliff. But you cant. You need to go to work. Sucks!
Been taking Vit C and trying to rest early. It works a little, but I think flu viruses has become much stronger than before.
In my teens, I use to recover from full blown flu within 1-2 days. Pop some pills, sleep, next morning, i'm as good as new. But nowadays, it seems to take a whole week to recover from flu. Is it because flu viruses has evolved to be more resistant to our medication? (thinking about it, all those typical flu medications has not changed much over the years, i.e. Decolgen) Or is it just that I am getting old?
Decolgen) Or is it just that I am getting old?

alone again, naturally.
...and climbing to the top,
to throw myself off,
in an effort to,
make it clear to who,
ever wondered what its like when you'r shattered,
left standing in a lurch,
at a church,
where people saying,
"My God thats tough,
she stood him up,
no point in us remaining,
May as well go home",
as I did on my own,
Alone again, naturally.

My FIRST upload
Waiting...
The wait is killing me. I toss around on my bed at night, not being able to sleep. Thinking about it. Seconds seem like minutes, and minutes like hours.. until it is as though time itself, stood still...
When will it arrive!!! Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Episode 23!!!! Bamboo Blade Episode 23!!!
Its been sooo long since I followed any anime. I love it! It makes me come alive :)

“What if”
A young married woman went to the doctor for help. She asked to be sterilized, as her upbringing had been so painful that she didn’t want to have her children experience the same thing.
The doctor asked her: “What would happen if you could make our children’s life better and could protect them?”
She thought about it and was stumped. She changed her mind about the operation and now has 2 beautiful girls that are the joy of her life. The right questions created space in her thinking to look at life in a new way.
Many lessons can be learnt from one story. The clear message in this story is how a simple question can change ones life. But I see another lesson in this story. And it is the power of “what if”.
“What if”s can be a form of non-constructive thinking if it is not followed by actions. Many dream of all the “what if”s in the world, but never bother or DARE to do anything about it.
Some, when making a choice, thinks of all the “what if”s. These people either becomes so fixated at finding the perfect choice, or become so fearful of all the negative points of each choice, that they either kill themselves over it, or miss the opportunity.
But in this story, it illustrates the point that “what if” we can make it good. All we need to do is to focus on the positive. Jump into a choice, and MAKE IT HAPPEN. There are negative points to this choice? SURE! Which path in life doesn’t? All it takes is a little faith in yourself, and a whole lot of determination to see it through. Make no mistakes, there are no guarantees that things will go as planned. We, with our own two hands, will just have to make it so.
Life is a journey. Even a journey of a thousand miles, start with a single step.

To Learn
It is estimated that 161 Billion Gigabyte of digital information was generated last year alone. If translated to books, that’s 12 stacks reaching from Earth to the Sun. It is also 3 million times the information in ALL books ever written! Alright alright, they are nothing but bombastic numbers, and most of the information nothing more than rubbish blog like this one. But they are interesting facts nevertheless.
The point is simply, that our minds should not be used as data storage. If that were the case, you and I would have lost our jobs to $25 thumb-drives.
Our job is now to think. To think, to ask, to learn and to manage.
As the saying goes:
“He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.”
“The one real objective of education is to have a man in the condition of continually asking questions.”
The wisest use of our minds is not just to hold data, but learning how to work with the data, which requires the art of enquiry.
To do so, we must relearn how to ask questions. As with all arts, it is not an easy task to learn, and requires discipline and practice with a dose of humility.

Art is Expression
Art = Expression
I recently attended a course on travel photography. It made me realize one thing. That art is not just about painting and sculptures. Art is an expression of oneself. Sounds cheem? I think not.
My view is that Art is very personal. It is ones expression of what they have seen and felt. Data taken in from all their 5 senses, and expressed into one object. Be it a painting, a sculpture, or in this case, a photograph. It tells a story.
I use to dislike the idea that every photograph MUST have a story. I felt as long as it looks nice, that would be good enough. However, now I appreciate that, a picture can be more than just for aesthetic, it can paint a thousand words. It can express a feeling.. even a novel might not be able to bring across.
If art teaches us one thing, it might be to learn to better appreciate the finer details in life.
For example, color (or the lack of it) brings another dimension to a picture and its story. Sometimes, too many colors will distract the viewer from the focus. But if used wisely, one simple color can tell a lot more words than can. Just like the movie HERO by Zhang Yimou. I love it because of the colors. It tells the background and feeling of each character in the story. It was brilliant!
Pick up a paintbrush, take a photo, express a part of yourself into a piece of art, and leave it as your legacy in this world.

Flyer
Was at the flyer yesterday... its a nice view. I always liked huge structures. It partially reminded me of the Eiffel tower when i first saw just one of its "foot". I was absolutely and totally in awe.
the Flyer adds new spice to our lackluster skyline.
I like it.

Close to you
A friend left a CD in the car.
Now its left a song in my head...
Close to youby Olivia Ong
Why do birds suddenly appear,
Everytime you are near?
Just like me, they long to be,
Close to you......
Why do stars fall down from the sky,
Everytime you walk by?
Just like me, they long to be,
close to you.........
On the day that you were born the angels got together,
And decided to create a dream come true,
So they sprinkled moondust in your hair
And golden starlight in your eyes of blue...
That is why, all the boys [or: girls] in town,
Follow you, all around,
Just like me, they long to be,
Close to you.......
On the day that you were born the angels got together,
And decided to create a dream come true,

Hisashiburi (its been awhile..)
How time flies. With a blink of an eye, another year has passed. Many things have changed over this year.. and yet sometimes it seems nothing has changed at all.
Has my search for a direction only begun, or am I lost, impatient and tired.
The sun will rise again tomorrow, just as sure as the sun will set, to rise again the next day. Life goes on.

Time Flies...
What will you know..
It has already been say... half a year since my last post. How time flies.
Moving into a new job, with many different new challenges, struggles, frustrations, sadness and stress. At times they seem unbearable. However, as cliche as it sounds.. if it doesn't kill you, it indeed will make you stronger.
But as all things go.. there is a catch to it.
It must not kill you first.
Keep in touch.

Overdue Trip
Hello from Cochrane Street, Hong Kong!!!
Finally! I'm finally on my long overdue trip which has been brought forward.
Long story, another time perhaps.
Bought tickets last wed.
Flew to Guangzhou to visit my sis last sat.
Took a 2 hour train backwards @_@ to Kowloon, Hong Kong this thursday.
Sitting in a smoothies cafe in the mids of chaotic Hong Kong typing this entry.
Btw, the smoothies cost twice my dinner (which consist of wanton noodles and a plate of oyster sauce vegi). Not overpriced smoothie, but cheap dinner :)
but stuff here CANNOT compare with the stuff in Guangzhou.
Dirt dirt cheap! Food, clothings... NO WONDER the states having an issue with the textiles. Even I'm tempted to buy a truckload to bring home to sell.
Anyway, back to the trip. Was in search of Lan Kwai Fong, MS equivalent of Singapore, when i stumbled onto this smoothies place by the side of the slope with a zillion steps. Ok, fine, i named it that. But its REALLY steep and loooooong. So how can I resist taking a break here and surf a little before i continue in search for the myterious Lan Kwai Fong.
Train back to Guangzhou this sunday evening.
Hangout and attack the wholesale market at Guangzhou one last time before flying back on monday night.
Would touch down next tuesday morning, 3.55am
and back to work next wednesday.
Over and out.

. . .
I smsed:
"Any plans tonight? If not wanna catch a movie or dinner?"
Reply from my friend:
"Hello! Am home, just idling lazily while using my special willpower, will-ing my housework to do themselves. It should be working, else I'll be doing it in oh, another 5 hours or so after I'm done procrastinating, but that's not likely, because my will-power will work."

Live Life
If there is something we dont like about the life we are living now, then maybe we need to make a change.
Do something about it.
Do something different.
Fight for it!
Life is just too short to wait...

National Security
Attention!
I say, Attention ladies and gentlemen.
This is a matter of national security.
This country is no longer safe!!
It is unsafe I tell you! Regardless of what our leaders say.
It is SO unsafe these days that citizens can no longer attend their friend's house-warming, without having their shoes stolen! Thats right, SHOES! Shocking isnt it!
Was at my friend house-warming last sat... and I left my brand new nike sneakers outside with the doors closed. Since they had the air-condition switched on. When we were leaving, to our horror, we found 3 pairs of our shoes and a pair of socks were GONE! Including mine! My precious white nike sneakers with a green Swoosh! is GONE!!! I got it for less than a month! And love it to bits! Gone! T_T
Shoe Thief!
They should be dragged out into the streets and be SHOT with camel dung! Yes! filthy
camel dung infested with flies of a thousand pigs! Ha! Justice!
There is just no justice.
But determined not to let this unfortunate event spoile my precious weekend, i marched straight to Queensway and bought ANOTHER pair! so... to wear this pair of sneakers, I had to spend $212!!! -__-""
Its amazing how such things still happen. I never thought, never heard nor experienced such things happening... at least until now. Let this be a reminder to us all. Our peaceful country isnt that safe anymore. Never take anything for granted.
On hindsight:
The funny thing is that 3 pairs of shoes... and a pair of socks were stolen. A pair of socks from my friend's SAF running shoes were stolen. But the shoe remains.....
There is a lesson to be learnt here... SAF shoes are REALLY good stuff!
Its Anti-Theft!

Hair = Trouble/Worry
I cannot believe this! I JUST cannot believe this!
EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!
I cant believe they can actually mess it up!!!
I tell them TRIM.
I show them a PICTURE.
and they can STILL.....
.....SHAVE OFF ALL MY HAIR!!!
Besides the little bush they left on the top of my head. -_-""""
ARRGGGgG!!!!!!
*Pull hair*!!!
OOps! i forgot.. i HAVE no hair anymore!
I've been keeping my mane for sooo long... and guess what?
Gone in 60 seconds....
I have changed hairdresser to hairdresser.. and yet, THIS happens.
I guess i have NEVER been satisfied with a haircut.... ever!
Except for the time I spent S$60 to cut my hair in Tokyo, Shibuya. Its glory lasted for all 4 months... till I had to cut it because of all the split ends.
To make matters worse, my colleague mentioned that my hair resembles that of a butch's.
Or.. did she mean to imply i look like one now..-_-"""""

I think i can permanently leave my blog's title as "Mane is growing"

Merchant's Fondue
FONDUE.
I had my BEST fondue at Merchant Court Hotel's Buffet dinner last Saturday. Oh man! The CHOCOLATE! For the first time in all my fondue experiences, I have finally tasted the REAL thing. The chocolate is really rich, thick, sweet at first, but with a touch of bitterness at the end. Hmmmm.....
Its not diluted and watered down like most of the those cheapo ones I've tasted. And! Its a chocolate fountain fondue. Its LITERALLY a chocolate fountain! Gasp!!!! My mouth is watering as I type!
Then you don't dip it with fruits. No no no...I have always felt fruits never go well with chocolate (besides banana. Although some, mainly women, says strawberry goes well with chocolate. But I disagree.) Marshmallow! Soft and tender, coated with a thick layer of ooozing chocolate.. and as your teeth sinks into it's tenderness, the chocolate flows across your lips. Your tongue gets swarmed with the taste of sweetness mixed with bitterness, sending chills down your spine.....
Hmmmmm HMmmmmm Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Hmmhmmmm HMmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!
And their Durian paste! GASP!!!!
Its amazingly GOOD!
Slurp!!
Its just like real Durian. Blended. Its REAL Durians blended. Although, I must admit, if it was a tad bit thicker, it would have been perfect! The paste was a little to watery... Pity. PITY I didn't have enough room in my stomach to finish it ALL! Muahaha!!!
Just these two dishes alone was enough to get me to pay for dinner :)
And its not too expensive. S$29+++ but with American express we got 15% off! So I just pay 29 bucks! Whoohoo!
CHOCOLATE FONDUE!!!! DURIAN PASTE!!!!
YUMM!
And no... I dont get paid to write this.

Working Dayz
Today is thursday! and after thursday comes friday. and friday is the day before the weekend. I like thursday. :)
Dispite the widely percieved moody mondays, I would have to disagree.
To me..
Monday is a motivating day. After a weekend of rest, I come back to work usually fully energized (or dead tired) and get ready to tackle new challenges ahead. Much like a new born, with all the promises in the world to look forward to.
Tuesday is a tough day. Energy restored from the previous weekend has totally and utterly been drained DRY...and its still soooooo far from the weekend. I find tuesday blues, the true bluez.
Wednesday is a slightly better day. Because i know after today, i will already be hald way through the week.
On Thursday, my mood picks up. Its almost Friday. Like the dusk, the HOT glaring sun loses its sting, and gets ready to set below the horizon.
And finally, comes Friday. This is a day which needs no introduction. High spirits, cheery smiles on everyone's faces :)
So you see... it is working life isnt that bad. Out of 1 week, there are 2 days of Heaven (Weekends), 2 days of high spirits (Thurs & Fri), 2 days of promise (Mon and Wed) and only one day of hell (Tues). Tuesday is our true enemy... not monday. Monday has just been misunderstood all these while.
Of course... unless you need to work on saturday. Then thats a different story altogether.

Diagnosis
Just paid a visit to the doctors.
Still having slight lingering headache and a funny feeling and feeling slightly retarded..... although i am sure some will argue that i have always been... but we leave that debate to another day. So i decided to be on the safe side and visited my company doctor.
The doc said the first 24 hours is critical. As long as there is
-No severe headache
-No vomiting.
-No blurred vision.
-No problems with balancing.
-No sagging of facial muscles.
Then i would probably live...
Although she did suggest maybe i would like to trim my brows, have a face lift, some botox injection, nose job, chin job (you know what they say, Chin is the new nose)... -_-"
Well, lame jokes aside...
Still having a tight feeling around my head and the lingering headache still stays. I guess all i can do now is to get more rest, and stay out of accidents. Tough. Apparently, I seem to lure them. ... like a black hole......@_@

Concussion
I literally walked into a signboard this morning. Was rushing to the busstop... when i saw a bush in the way.. so i dodged it.. and walked straight into the hidden signpost! PANG!!!! the signpost was still shaking when i looked up at it in shock..
After the impact, OBVIOUSLY i was in a state of shock. Half my face went numb for a few minutes. I had a 3 inch long cut on my forehead... luckily, no bleeding. After that... i felt a headache at the lower back of my head... near the neck... alll day long.. even till now.. almost 15 hours after the incident. I hope i'm alright... sigh...
As i heard... concussions can cause DEATH... -_-""
SO! If anything DOES happen to me...
i want a few things to be known...
1) My family to know that i love them greatly and dearly... although i never show it.
2) My manga to be burried with me! hahaaha!
3) All my (limited) savings to go to my niece... to fund for her.. erm... primary school education? .... hmm... maybe just for HALF of her primary school education. ahhaa

Convocation... again ~ Finally
Last Wed, I attended my convocation ceremony.. for the second time. Finally.
After almost 3 years of struggling, lazing and vexing, I have finally ended that phase in my life. Its been sooo long since the actual completion and the convocation, that i dont think i enjoyed the full impact of graduating. Just like when we are clearing our leave before we collect our pink IC after NS. Just that my delay is 1 year long.
But at the end of the ceremony, when all the newly graduates rushed out of the congested Hall, in the mids of the chaos, rush, falling balloons, i turn back and look at everything... the people, the research, the exams, the lifeless-ness and the mess. I thought to myself, I am glad is it over.
At that point in time, the word "Closure" came to mind. Closure indeed. I have to move on with life. And not let this part of my life hinder me.
Like a book, turned to a fresh new page. Blank, and full of promises of what is yet to be. Full of hope and uncertainties. But one this is certain, the book is getting thinner and there is no turning back in this book titled.....
LIFE.

The Decision
It has been decided! and bought!
After much lamenting, I have finally discovered my secret desire and hidden liking for................

THE GREEN ONE!
SNA 699P1
Guys, thanks for your kind offer of opinion. The winner of the votes is actually.... SDA 625 (Red one), with a landslide victory. It indeed has a nicer watch face and more color contrast, thus more fetching. However, when I tried it on at the shop, I realised it doesnt go well with office shirt. Too sporty.
The SNA 699P1 (Green one) is more classy and goes better with office wear. And.. i just cant shake this attraction to the greeeennn! The Red one looks better, thats an undisputed opinon by many, even myself. But i guess deep down inside... subconsciously, i like the green. Hmmm..... i cant believe i just wrote 2 WHOLE paragraphs on the justification of getting my watch. I must REALLY be very bored.

Where did the weekend GO???
Where? Where did the weekend go??
The last i remember, it was friday night. I was overjoyed knowing that the looooong awaited weekend is FINALLY here! But the next thing i know, its monday morning. I was dragging myself out of bed to go work. Who stole my weekend?!
I feel... so cheated!
My boss also felt the same. Is it just us? or did someone sped up the flow of time this weekend?

Recovered and on Blades
Thanks to the super potent medicine from the doctors, I manage to recover from my food poisoning by the weekend. Just in time for SUSHI!! Yumm.. Stomach still holding up till now. Probably is alright already la!
Also, I have been beginning to like in-line skating. So far, I only bladed twice, but I've been liking it. Especially with my injury filled ankles. Doctors orders, no high impact activites for 6 months. Which means no Jogging, no Kendo... and its already been soooo long since I practiced Kendo.
Oh, I am currently borrowing a pair of blades from a friend of mine but am thinking of getting a pair for myself. Any good recommendation?

Poison~in Food Severe
I have NEVER had SUCH a horrible HORRIBLE case of food poisoning EVER!!!
It was the usual. Involves LS-ing... puking... feeling dizzy.... but everything have a whole new challenge to it when i am in office. The usual 3 doors and 75 meters from the toilet seems like a 1.5 km SOC (Standard Obstacle Course). I was also unable to drink or eat anything. Even WATER!!! whatever i ate, i puked. Whatever i drank.... well... it comes out the OTHER side... OTHER!
In short is was a horrible day... and it was a mirical i survived...to take a day's MC the next day. During which i SLEPT the whole day away... Fortunately the Doctor's medicine works. Or else i might have ended up sleeping the day away in the toilet...

Wedding weekend
Wedding density index hits record highest over the last 29 years.
Over the span of these 2 weeks, I have attended 3 weddings.
and over this 2 months, i would have attended 5!!!
Many's reaction would be that its poor on the wallet. True, but its also very heart warming to watch so many of my friends getting married. But it is scary too though. Imagine, they get married, and within 2-3 years, they will be PARENTS! PARENTs! I totally CANNOT imagine myself being a parent yet. I have never really owned even a PET! Not to mention a human being. and seeing how my sis is taking care of my niece, its been described as one of the most challenging jobs on the face of the earth.
Emmm..... i digress.....
Wedding, YEs!
the last 3 weddings i went was held at
Pan Pacific,
Sheraton Hotel,
Fullerton Hotel.
The strain on the wallet seems to be in accending order.... doesnt it.
Of all, Sheraton and Fullerton's ball room is most interesting among all the weddings i've been to.
Sheraton's is a L-shaped ballroom. and the red carpet stretches the center of the bend. Very short walk in for the couples. Fortunately, theres a live camera crew to put the event on the screens. For the people sitting far at the ends.
Fullerton's is a typical long type. However, there are doors with long stairways all along the long side of the ballroom. And the bride and groom walks in from each ends to meet at the center. Once again, with a live camera crew. The first time i witnessed a live broadcast, and it happens on BOTH the weddings i've attended. wonder if its a new trend. although it must be exexex$$$ , but its really a nice touch. IF the camera man does his job well. Oh! for this wedding, the brothers and sisters get to do their own walk in as well! haha interesting. they will walk in pair by pair as well... some sort of a recognition for their time and effort.
Speaking of which, I left home at 6am and reach home only after 2am to help out at the wedding.. AND... help out to wrap up the wedding...... with a fun filled time at the couple's wedding suite :) hoo hoo hoo
OH!!!! the bad karma!!!! retribution will come to me...:(

Test Run
Its been almost 5 months since i sprain my ankle.
It has not fully recovered yet even after all this time.
I still feel pain upon impact or rotating it at certain ankles.
Been feeling reeeeallly unheathly.
The coke, the chips, the chocolate.... doesnt help.
Finally, with all the frustration and worries, concerns and stresses overflowing....
I disregarded my ankle and went for the jog i so desperately needed.
and it felt great!
Besides the ankle of course.
and the thighs, and the lungs and the heart. haha
The next morning, instead of feeling lighter cos of the weight i MUST HAVE lost after the job... i actually felt that my body weighs a TON! Every step, every movement feels as if the air around me has drastically increased its viscosity overnight.
Talk about unfit...
But i shall go again. After my ankle feels a little better, i shall go again.
Exercise also contributes to improving our mental well-being.

of relationship
Some look for friends only when they need something from them....
Some look for friends only when these friends need something from them...
Are these considered healthy friendship? Can these be considered as friendship at all? Maybe it can.. but shouldnt friends go through thick and thin together. Good and bad. Not just one?
I went to sleep thinking last night....
"Why do people have to look for each other only when there is a need to?"
Wouldn't it be nice if friends drop an email, an sms or a call just to ask "Wats up?", "How have you been?" or "Hows life?". Busy? Well, perhaps. But i although there is still so much idealism and hope in me, we should just take things as it is sometimes, as some things just cannot be forced upon. And this is one of them. Because Hope, i recently realised, has two edges.
i digress.
Unfortunately, friendship is something you can work hard and obtain. Like all relationships, friendship is something that has to be mutual. If respect come from only one without the other... the only place this relationship exist, is in the mind of the dreamer.
They say good friends are rare, i agree.

Fear and Repression
I have been hooked to the American Sitcom, Boston Legal, lately.
With the ethically challenged James Spader portrays Alan Shore and the legendary Danny Crain, this show is too much to miss.
However, amidst the comedy and witty debates, some points does drive home interesting thought provoking issues. Some closer to our hearts (and home) than we might imagine.
In defending the bill of rights, Alan quoted the following:
Adlai E. Stevenson
Speech in Princeton University ~ 22 March 1954
The tragedy of our day is the climate of fear in which we live.
And fear breads repression.
Too often, sinister treats the bill of rights, the freedom of the mind.
Are concealed under the patriotic cloak of anti-communism
It is far easier to fight for principles than to live up to them.
~Alan Shore

Zombieee @_@
UUrrgggg.....
I have been sleeping early lately... too early.. 3am! and i wake up at 645am!
Thats barely 4 hours worth of sleep per night. @_@.....
Well, at least i can still do math.
Hmm... lack of sleep and falling sick... these 2 topics seems to occupy the majority of my entries.. it might seem that these full occupy my life. However, that is a highly inaccurate reflection of my life. My life encompasses mainly of daydreaming.. now THATS something to occupy YOUR life. Do it TODAY!
But yes, back to my tired body and swollen eyeballs.... it feels as though they are going to explode.. @_@ Urrrgg...

A story about how i met Zinc and Vit C
Another week of cold....
Been falling sick lately... a little too often.
Its like my life is punctuated with alternate weeks of flu, cold or fever.
Thus, I have decided to try out taking health supplements.
Not exactly crazy about the idea of taking such, as i call, artificial stuff... but anything to get myself healthy again. Dont intend to take this as a perm solution, but lets see where this goes.
Haha, as i am typing this "email" at work... my boss walked by and the TODAY newspaper caught his eye. The cover was an advertisement of the new disaster movie, Poseidon. It cleverly designed to be like a REAL news article, and my boss got a shock! haha. I've been fooled a few times before i begin to always look out for the "advertising feature" disclaimer BEFORE i panic or jump to conclusion..
MI3 this wkend. Whoohoo.. WEEKEND!!!!!

Revenge of the Grass Cutters
I dont know what i did to offend them, nor what i did in my previous life to bring this upon myself... but i believe, it must have been REALLY BAD. Cos they have dedicated their sunday morning to create a LIVING HELL for me.... >_<
Its like 8am in the morning!! COme on!!! have a heart!
"EEEeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzz............"
"EEEeeeezzzzzzzzzz.........."
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzz............"
"AAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" >_<
After an hour of hair pulling, pillow gutting, head banging...sigh... i have finally resigned to my ill-fate and logged onto the pc hoping to find some solitude in the music and surfing. Unfortunately, even my blasting speakers PAIL in comparison under the high decibel generation of the LEAN, MEAN, Grass-cutting NOISE-making MACHINE!!!!!
I have resorted to exploding my mp3 player to Jay Chou's November Choppin with my trusty ear-phones.... finally... peace.... but wide awake... -_-

Its a GOOD friday :)
I finally got to catch up some of my sleep...
i slept for 11 HOURS! *Looks PROUD* :)
AHahaha... but it really feels good. all day i feel so refreshed.
Although still feeling slightly unwell from the flu.. but definately a lot better then before. Unfortunately, i am still awake at THIS time (3am).... which is BAD BAD BAD. should sleep by 11pm! .... ya rite. ahhaa. But like what i read somewhere, a human body begins repairing itself best between 11pm-3am. Dont know if its true.. but i DO feel a difference if i sleep early.
Anyway, met up with quite a few friends today. 1 friend for lunch and 2 groups of friends to celebrate birthday :)
..... and discovered MORE people planning to travel!
Hong Kong for shopping?
New Zealand ??
I ALSO WANT!!!!
Where do YOU feel like going for a backpacking trip? Holiday?

Face Lift, the conclusion
So in the end, I only got a spare batt. and ONE exchangeable cover for my VS3.
They dont keep stock of the black-flower and the block-dots doesnt look that nice.

too bad...
So I only got the METALLIC REEEEED!!!! Goes with my red msger bag, red shoes, red t-shirt... and red undi.... *cough cough*.. nono.. no superhero here.
Actually, I havent tried it on yet, but i am sure it will look GREAT! The exchangeable COVER! not the Undi...-_-" NEVERMIND!
And with another 3.7V, 830mAh Li-ion worth of JUICE! I will never have to worry about running out of power amids my SMS sprees. ;) Cool!

But check out what other cool covers they have overseas!

Being Sick is Sickening...
Once again... i am sick...
Once again.. the flu bug paid me a visit.
Those irritating buggers. I really wonder why i ill sick so often lately....
Is this due to.....
-lack of sleep?
-stress?
-lack of exercise? (looks down... cant see my feet. something big and round is blocking)
-lack sleep?
-unhealthy food?
-lack sleep?
-lack sleep????
It all started with bad sore throat (and i still went KTV)
then headache, then a running nose followed.
Uurrggg....!!! I mean... how scary IS THAT! a NOSE running after me while i am having a freakin' headache!!!
Ahahaha.. CLEARLY, I am feeling very slightly better. For me to come up with such QUALITY lame jokes ;) But just slightly, only slightly....still feel like crap. The nose! Urgg... and the aching... Oooo....
FORTUNATELY! Friday is coming. and its a GOOD friday!!!
Many of my friends are taking this long weekend to go off on a mini-holiday.
Some to Genting,
some to diving trips,
some to TAIPEI.... just taipei. haha ;) *private joke*
Me? I stay home to pay homage to my beloved cozy comfy bed...
Hark! its calling me already...... yes.. my master.......my.... precious..............Zzzzzzzzz...

Weekend recharge
Phew! the weekend is finally here.
I really needed this wkend!
Was out with friends for dinner and movie. After a week of working and being surrounded by acquaintances, it is really refreshing, relaxing and rejuvenating to hang out with old friends..... not that they are old... just people i know for some time.... (gotto make it clear. Dont wanna get myself into BIG trouble. Haha)
We watched Kate Beckinsale. I mean, we watched Underworld: Revolution.... They were really nice.. her as... i mean.. the
PLOT! ahaha But she is really one beauty. Her victorian face and features... almost look perfect. Unfortunately, there were some explicit scenes which the show could have done without (not that i didnt enjoy it.. oh i did... i didddddd....:P~~~). It kinda degrades the show to seem as though it needed these scenes to raise its ratings. But the fact is, I would think Underworld part 1 was better.
Ankle report!
Ankle is much better now. Finally begin to be able to walk normally without limping on friday. But it still hurts though. Just not enough to make me limp anymore. However, every morning, its still a pain (literally) to get out of bed. After a night of rest, my feet will hurt badly for the first 5 minutes of contact with the ground. But alls well.
Its 3am! off to bed now. Tomorrow is a brand new day. :)

my niece... sleeps
Yes. She sleeps. and thats about all the memory i have of her.
Over the past 3 wks, i visited 4 times. And all 4 times, she SLEEPS! According to my sis, she was hyper active last night. But today when i go visit, she decides to sleep her way through my visit once again. Even through feeding. She sleep-feeds! She deprives me from seeing her cute smile and almond shape eyes!
I think i repeal girls. Seriously. -_-""
