Job Hunting ~ Day 1

YEAH! The FIRST day of my job searching just ended! Job hunting is HARD work!

Am not exactly sure what I wanna do with my life yet... but i think i will be attempting to apply for jobs from the Financial, Marketing, Engineering and maybe even event organisation industry.

But with ZERO experience, its kind hard to get an interview. Will just send them out and see how it goes. And about the internet making things easier for online job application. I think its bull! It seems to be extremely user unfriendly. After 2 hours with meddling with it, I've decided to just go ahead and send physical copies of my resume instead.

Just became 20 bucks poorer getting ink catriage for my printer, a stack of printing paper, and some envelops (30cents each?! its just folded paper!!).

Dengue again?!

I have been bitten twice by a mosquito today... and when i finally manage to kill it.. i saw black and white strips on it legs.. An Aedes aegypti (a.k.a. Aedes mosquito).

Its been said that if you get contract dengue fever the second time... it could be fatal. Heres why.

"Dengue and dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) are caused by one of four closely related, but antigenically distinct, virus serotypes (DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4), of the genus Flavivirus. Infection with one of these serotypes does not provide cross-protective immunity. "

Being immune to one virus, the body might think it is immune to the others as well, when it is not. So the immnue system might not recognise the other viruses and leave the victim helpless to the attack.

As of lately, the number of people contracting this dengue fever has shot up from a 136 to 300 cases per WEEK. The things we all take for granted. Lets just hope I dont end up in the CDC bed one more time.

Ok.. reality check.... i still got tons of pressing matter to look into.
-Like to look for a JOB.....elk...
-To look for a part time job to pay for the substance i consume... (part time job to recommend anyone?)
-Get the Alumni moving... already one year overdue..
-Pass my IPPT...-_-

oh man.. my life has been on a stand-still ever since i started rushing for my thesis one year ago... i wonder if my friends still remember my existance.. -_-"
Maybe they tot i was standed LOST on some island... the NERVES! not even attempting to come looking for me or send some rescue team or something...-_-"

Yes yes.. so many things to do.. Meanwhile, i think i will give myself some relax time... cos this fuse has burnt out long time ago..@_@

First Journal-COMPLETE!

Phew! after hours and hours working on my journals... FINALLY! the first is complete... the second... well... lets just talk about the first!

ITS COMPLETE!!!....

too bad i cant say that for my stomach.... hungry..... its 10pm.. and i havent had dinner...-_- .....Oooooooooo..... s....o......e...x..h..a..u..s..t..e...d..d.d..d..d.ddddddd

Yes! My new occupation. After my life as a masters student comes to an end, my new job as slave of sis begins! -_-

Job scope:
-carry heavy things
-fetch snacks for couch potato
-run errands
-drives her around (a.k.a. ahmat)
-punching bag/nagging bag

Job requirement:
-being her bro

Benifits:
-free meals
-free snacks
-being ahmat (thus, can drive)
-stays with sis (a.k.a. get out of nagging parents free)

8th july, not my day...

What was planned to be a short 2 hour trip to my sis up north to print out the color pages of my thesis turned out to be an elaborate 8 hours wild goose chase with printer carrying, wires entangling and sun bathing..... ok.. there wasnt any sunbathing.. elk!!

-Set off from home to sis place
-reach 50 minutes later hot and sweaty
-cools down and HEATS up when found out PC uses ancient dinosaurs windows 98 which doesnt support thumb drives.
-drove sis car to friend's house to burn 17MB of thesis into CD
-chat :P (ok, my fault)
-drove back and tested printing
-pages printed are shrunk
-realised ancient PC with dinosaurs OS also has antique office!!! office 98!!! i typed my thesis on office 2000!!!!!! arg!!!
-DROVE the printer home to print using my laptop
-finally prints smoothly
-took a breather...
-realise out of ink..
-looks at clock... 630pm...-_-"
-admits defeat
-drives to sis place to return printer
-dinner... or was that lunch... = 2 slice of bread

2 years of experiments
1 year of thesis writing
4 weeks of drafting
8 hours of printing
1 empty ink cartridge

I live in a land that is clean, green and roasting suana hellofvaHOT!!!

It really ruins ur mood for the whole day if you wake up in the morning all sicky and sweaty... Thats why i have air con.. life saver i tell you... these inventions.. the creator should get nobel prize for world peace. If not for these cool creations, people with foul mood will stomp the street....-_-" which..actually kinda explain the issue of locals being foul mannered and unhelpful most of the time. THose who aren't most probably are proud owners of an air condition unit.. or doesnt have 2 journal articles to complete writing before he can trade for his FREEDOM!!!!

31hours without sleep... and going strong...

Just got back the corrections of my 2nd draft 2 hrs ago... am in the state of neither tired nor energetic... i think i have exceeded the stone limit liao... becoming STONEless liao.. so might as well carry on...

Now making all the corrections and try to get MOST of my 3rd Draft ready for my 2 other co-supervisors to read.... but i shouldnt be too ambitious la... will leave those "need to think" parts for tomorrow.

2nd Draft... submitted!

After 28 hours of non-stop mugging... (ok.. not non-stop la.. i napped for 20 minutes), i finally submitted the 2nd draft with all the corrections and cursed restructuring. My sup is reading it now.. .and will summon for my presence anytime now... to throw it back in my face for the third, hopefully final draft. But no matter what, at least it wont be as rush as this 2nd draft. Madness.. change/restructure/add everything in 2 days!

Come on... just let me graduate will you......

Just completed all the corrections... gotto rush for last bus already... the whole of tomorrow will be on restructuring of the thesis... sigh.. is it me or do i feel my heartbeat being very heavy now. Can almost feel every-single beat of my heart. Maybe its the stress... heavy.. its just so heavy...

I think i have developed a phobia of my thesis...

Draft 1 returned

Just got back my first draft..... some corrections.. and MAJOR RESTRUCTURING.....

I have this tickling sensation to either RIP my heart out or disembowl myself. My sup wants me to redo my conclusion and email it to him by the end of today, and make all the corrections AND... restructure my WHOLE thesis... all by tomorrow night.. or thurs morning. What the Freakin HELL! its like writing my whole thesis all overagain... but just that this is all to be done in a day+.... I think i will need to stay overnight tomorrow to ATTEMPT to get all these done... crap crap crap... i feel ABSOLUTELY CRAPISH!

Meanwhile... finally... my first draft was submitted to my sup and now waiting for him to look through it while he is in china. He should be back next tues and will return me the thesis correction. THen.... i will get busy again doing the amendments AND do his 2 journal articles for him.. grumble grumble...

Job hunting job hunting.... something i should be doing now.. but not doing ...:P
Although i have a generic resume worked out... but have not sent any out yet.. should do so soon la hor? :P ahhaa but i have been toying with the idea of going into the finance or banking industry lately. Well... one things for sure.. it is never a sunset industry... unlike technological industry where theres always rise and falls... who are NOT deal with money. Dealing with money is alway needed! :) and whats more.. i love MONEY!!! :) Muahahah.. well.. marketing sounds interesting too... although i also show interest in event organization, but just not sure how good the prospects are of this line of work in Singapore. And of course... Engineering... what else.. it would be NICE if i could put my masters degree to good use.. (like getting myself higher income). But.... after doing this for the last 3 yrs... i am all the more sure that.... INTEREST... is more important than anything else.

Sooo... anyone out there with lobangs... pls let me know ya! after living on my own savings for a yr.. and eating grass everyday... i LOOOOONG for sashimi, unagi, cha soba... escargo, steaks and other fine dining. Not to mention SHOPPING!!! oh man!!! Great Singapore sale is on... i got all the time in the world.. but no $$$..... anyone need me to shop FOR them? haha.. just gimme a ring man! i will be more then happy to be of service..;)

Heartbeat Irregularity?! O.o

I have been feeling feverish and have a splitting headache lately. So I went to see a chinese doctor on thursday... and was diagnosed with..... IRREGULAR HEARTBEAT!!!! huh?!?!? never before have i heard that i;ve got thaT! Maybe its cos of all the late nights, pressure and stress that i inflicted upon myself during the course of the atrocious thesis writing and correcting for the last few weeks. -_-

Sooo... i am laying off strenuous exercise for this 2 wks for now. Just trying to get my disaster of a health back together again. I think will be going back to that chinese doctor for a follow up either today or tomorrow.. hope things get better... and that its nothing permanent.... -_-"

catching up

Phew! been catching up with friends lately... finally after the first draft of my thesis is done*..

Its really great to know that after all this mugging of thesis... lifeless weekends and seemingly endless road of life... i do have packets of friends to catch up with. Today, i met up with rovers friends whom i have not met up for almost a year!! Some started work... some still in school... but everyone has grown... have i?

Then at 11pm!! i met up with some friends whom just returned from their TIBET trip1!!! TIBET IS SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!! i wanna expend THousands of Giga-bytes of Compact Flash memory and magazines of barrels of film on the amazing scenery and lifestyle there... Sigh... how sad i missed the trip... but lucky that i decided to withdraw from it... i would never have been able to finished my thesis in time...

thesis thesis thesis.. its like my whole life for the pass 1 year have been revolving around it......note i mentioned 1 yr.. ahhaa.. cos the first year of my masters... i have been busy mastering icq and msn messenger... my second year i was busy mastering the skill of kendo admin.. hahaha... and finally... the third.. my thesis... is THAT great time management or WHAT?! :P HA!

K la... tomolo going back to lab to continue the endless struggle of me against engrish! -_- elk...

*Note: actually it is not done yet... just kanna thrown back at me to check through my english before my sup reads it cos he has recently been traumatized by some students horrendous powderful engrish! >_< so i am rushing like mad to rephrase much of the sentenses and paragraphs that i wrote when i was either half-awake or brain dead while rushing for my thesis....-_-
