Wedding weekend

Wedding density index hits record highest over the last 29 years.

Over the span of these 2 weeks, I have attended 3 weddings.
and over this 2 months, i would have attended 5!!!
Many's reaction would be that its poor on the wallet. True, but its also very heart warming to watch so many of my friends getting married. But it is scary too though. Imagine, they get married, and within 2-3 years, they will be PARENTS! PARENTs! I totally CANNOT imagine myself being a parent yet. I have never really owned even a PET! Not to mention a human being. and seeing how my sis is taking care of my niece, its been described as one of the most challenging jobs on the face of the earth.

Emmm..... i digress.....
Wedding, YEs!
the last 3 weddings i went was held at
Pan Pacific,
Sheraton Hotel,
Fullerton Hotel.

The strain on the wallet seems to be in accending order.... doesnt it.
Of all, Sheraton and Fullerton's ball room is most interesting among all the weddings i've been to.

Sheraton's is a L-shaped ballroom. and the red carpet stretches the center of the bend. Very short walk in for the couples. Fortunately, theres a live camera crew to put the event on the screens. For the people sitting far at the ends.

Fullerton's is a typical long type. However, there are doors with long stairways all along the long side of the ballroom. And the bride and groom walks in from each ends to meet at the center. Once again, with a live camera crew. The first time i witnessed a live broadcast, and it happens on BOTH the weddings i've attended. wonder if its a new trend. although it must be exexex$$$ , but its really a nice touch. IF the camera man does his job well. Oh! for this wedding, the brothers and sisters get to do their own walk in as well! haha interesting. they will walk in pair by pair as well... some sort of a recognition for their time and effort.

Speaking of which, I left home at 6am and reach home only after 2am to help out at the wedding.. AND... help out to wrap up the wedding...... with a fun filled time at the couple's wedding suite :) hoo hoo hoo

OH!!!! the bad karma!!!! retribution will come to me...:(

Test Run

Its been almost 5 months since i sprain my ankle.
It has not fully recovered yet even after all this time.
I still feel pain upon impact or rotating it at certain ankles.
Been feeling reeeeallly unheathly.
The coke, the chips, the chocolate.... doesnt help.

Finally, with all the frustration and worries, concerns and stresses overflowing....
I disregarded my ankle and went for the jog i so desperately needed.

and it felt great!
Besides the ankle of course.
and the thighs, and the lungs and the heart. haha

The next morning, instead of feeling lighter cos of the weight i MUST HAVE lost after the job... i actually felt that my body weighs a TON! Every step, every movement feels as if the air around me has drastically increased its viscosity overnight.

Talk about unfit...
But i shall go again. After my ankle feels a little better, i shall go again.
Exercise also contributes to improving our mental well-being.

of relationship

Some look for friends only when they need something from them....

Some look for friends only when these friends need something from them...

Are these considered healthy friendship? Can these be considered as friendship at all? Maybe it can.. but shouldnt friends go through thick and thin together. Good and bad. Not just one?

I went to sleep thinking last night....

"Why do people have to look for each other only when there is a need to?"

Wouldn't it be nice if friends drop an email, an sms or a call just to ask "Wats up?", "How have you been?" or "Hows life?". Busy? Well, perhaps. But i although there is still so much idealism and hope in me, we should just take things as it is sometimes, as some things just cannot be forced upon. And this is one of them. Because Hope, i recently realised, has two edges.

i digress.

Unfortunately, friendship is something you can work hard and obtain. Like all relationships, friendship is something that has to be mutual. If respect come from only one without the other... the only place this relationship exist, is in the mind of the dreamer.

They say good friends are rare, i agree.

Fear and Repression

I have been hooked to the American Sitcom, Boston Legal, lately.
With the ethically challenged James Spader portrays Alan Shore and the legendary Danny Crain, this show is too much to miss.

However, amidst the comedy and witty debates, some points does drive home interesting thought provoking issues. Some closer to our hearts (and home) than we might imagine.

In defending the bill of rights, Alan quoted the following:

Adlai E. Stevenson

Speech in Princeton University ~ 22 March 1954

The tragedy of our day is the climate of fear in which we live.
And fear breads repression.
Too often, sinister treats the bill of rights, the freedom of the mind.
Are concealed under the patriotic cloak of anti-communism

It is far easier to fight for principles than to live up to them.

Zombieee @_@

UUrrgggg.....

I have been sleeping early lately... too early.. 3am! and i wake up at 645am!
Thats barely 4 hours worth of sleep per night. @_@.....
Well, at least i can still do math.

Hmm... lack of sleep and falling sick... these 2 topics seems to occupy the majority of my entries.. it might seem that these full occupy my life. However, that is a highly inaccurate reflection of my life. My life encompasses mainly of daydreaming.. now THATS something to occupy YOUR life. Do it TODAY!

But yes, back to my tired body and swollen eyeballs.... it feels as though they are going to explode.. @_@ Urrrgg...

A story about how i met Zinc and Vit C

Another week of cold....
Been falling sick lately... a little too often.
Its like my life is punctuated with alternate weeks of flu, cold or fever.

Thus, I have decided to try out taking health supplements.
Not exactly crazy about the idea of taking such, as i call, artificial stuff... but anything to get myself healthy again. Dont intend to take this as a perm solution, but lets see where this goes.

Haha, as i am typing this "email" at work... my boss walked by and the TODAY newspaper caught his eye. The cover was an advertisement of the new disaster movie, Poseidon. It cleverly designed to be like a REAL news article, and my boss got a shock! haha. I've been fooled a few times before i begin to always look out for the "advertising feature" disclaimer BEFORE i panic or jump to conclusion..

MI3 this wkend. Whoohoo.. WEEKEND!!!!!
